Show Me Some Skin: American version of Skins lacks "charm"

Perhaps I ruined it by watching the UK version last week, but the American adaption of the British show, Skins, is not very appealing at all - even though its almost identical to the UK show.

Maybe its the actors and actresses chosen for the show or maybe its how forced everything seems, but the show is certainly trying to hard to live up to the adaption. And it shows.

It would be harsh to place it solely on the shoulders of the young "stars" (the word used very loosely) but they are the ones on screen and their performances are quite so-so. they lack a certain personality that is needed to play the roles of their characters.

Perhaps when the show deviate from its UK predecessor, as it has been rumored to do, it will get better. Maybe they grow into their roles as the season goes on. Something NEEDS to happen because its a bit dull right now.

Speaking of UK to US adaptions, Being Human also premiered tonight and it was a far more appealing adaption.
